About Sarah Wannell's Tutoring and Piano Services

I have been dedicated to providing exceptional tutoring and piano lessons in the Forest Heights/Bethany area for over 20 years. I teach with a mindset that not all students learn the same way and repeating the same method three times does not work. Helping students through different learning techniques is my specialty and I have found it especially successful with math students whom I have taken from failing a class to a B grade.

My approach to teaching piano is to teach the love of playing and infuse the lessons with technique and musical theory without bombarding the student with scales and bookwork that turns them away from playing. I make lessons fun and interesting; I encourage students to choose songs and I teach with patience and humor.

A little about me

I was born and educated in Britain where I received my piano training with the Royal London school of music and became fluent in French. I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for my undergraduate teaching degree in French and English and National University in San Diego for my MBA. After many years in the classroom setting, I decided to go solo and haven't looked back. I teach both challenged kids and gifted kids. I have IB French students as well as pre-K and adult piano students. My math students range from kindergarten to high school pre-calculus.
